Aquaculture Aeration & Gas Dissolution

Agricultural Engineering

How It Works

Intensive aquaculture and hydroponics require continuous artificial reaeration to maintain dissolved oxygen levels vital for aquatic species respiration. Interfacial gas transfer across submerged air bubble surfaces is governed by two-film theory and Henry's law of gas solubility. The oxygen mass transfer rate depends on bubble size, liquid film coefficient K_L, and the concentration deficit relative to saturation.
