Langmuir Adsorption Isotherm

Chemical Engineering

How It Works

The Langmuir adsorption model quantifies monolayer physical and chemical adsorption of gas molecules on solid surfaces. The model assumes localized active adsorption sites on a homogeneous lattice surface, where each site accommodates at most one molecule with no lateral interactions. Dynamic equilibrium is established when the rate of surface adsorption equals the rate of thermal desorption.
