How It Works

Reverse osmosis is a pressure-driven membrane separation technology that purifies solvent by overcoming natural osmotic pressure. When feed hydraulic pressure exceeds osmotic pressure (ΔP > Δπ), water molecules are forced across a dense semipermeable membrane while dissolved salts and macromolecules are rejected by size exclusion and electrostatic repulsion, yielding purified permeate.
