Warren Truss Joint Equilibrium

Civil Engineering

How It Works

Pin-jointed trusses transfer applied service loads purely through axial forces along member centerlines, preventing primary bending moments from developing. Under the classical method of joints, each individual node is isolated as a concurrent force system in static equilibrium. Equilibrium requires both horizontal and vertical vector sums of axial forces to vanish simultaneously.
