Unit Hydrograph Catchment Routing

Civil Engineering

How It Works

The unit hydrograph theory models catchment hydrological response under the principles of linear time-invariance and superposition. It defines the direct surface runoff hydrograph generated by one unit of effective rainfall falling uniformly across the watershed over a designated duration. Total catchment streamflow hydrographs are synthesized by convolving discrete rainfall excess hyetograph pulses with the unit response.
