How It Works

Solid-state battery architectures replace flammable liquid organic electrolytes with rigid, non-combustible ceramic or solid polymer electrolytes that exhibit high lithium-ion transference numbers. Lithium cations hop between interstitial crystallographic sites along low-energy percolation pathways governed by Arrhenius-Nernst-Einstein conductivity. The rigid solid matrix prevents hazardous dendrite short-circuits.
