How It Works

Flocculation promotes the agglomeration of destabilized colloidal particles into larger settleable pin-flocs via gentle mechanical agitation. The Camp-Stein velocity gradient G characterizes the shear rate inside the flocculation basin. Particle collisions occur through fluid shear streamlines, with collision frequency scaling with velocity gradient and particle size cubed.
