How It Works

Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) telecommunications exploits spatial multipath propagation using multiple antennas at both transmitter and receiver. By decomposing the matrix radio channel H via singular value decomposition into parallel orthogonal spatial subchannels, MIMO multiplies spectral throughput without requiring extra transmit power or radio frequency bandwidth.
